Police say they have arrested a high-ranking member of the Comancheros bikie gang in relation the shooting of Peter Zervas in March 2009.

The Hells Angel was shot several times as he sat in his car outside a Lakemba house, but survived.

It was just a few days after his brother Anthony Zervas died in a brawl between rival bikie gangs at Sydney Airport.

This morning at about 7:15am (AEDT) a 28-year-old man was arrested at a home in Georges Hall and taken for questioning.

Police allege he is a high-ranking Comanchero.

They say a total of seven people have now been arrested over the Zervas shooting.

Detectives investigating the theft of twelve cars from a Liverpool yard and the assault of some yard employees in February last year, have also been involved in today's operation.
