Canada, Clubhouse seizure extended

Province holds Hells Angels home
By Winnipeg Sun
A court order allowing authorities to raid and seize a clubhouse belonging to the Hells Angels’ Manitoba chapter has been extended by two months.

Sixty days have been added to the original 30-day order, which took effect July 29, the day of the raid.

This means the province can continue to hold on to the secluded, riverfront property at 2679 Scotia St. and its contents. The matter must be resolved in court.

The home’s owner, Leonard Beauchemin, has the right to oppose the forfeiture but hasn’t filed any documents in defence.

His lawyer, Jay Prober, has said he plans to fight the province’s attempt to take permanent control of the property.

The mortgage is in Beauchemin’s name. He resides in northwestern Ontario.

In court documents, the province claims the hangout was a hub of criminal activity and planning.

It was seized under a law which allows the province to take control of property allegedly used in unlawful acts, including marijuana grow operations.

A security gate featuring the outlaw motorcycle club’s famed death-head logo has been dismantled, according to documents.
