POLICE are investigating a possible outlaw motorcycle gang link to Pomona after seizing a semi-automatic handgun and $50,000 worth of drugs yesterday.

A 0.22 calibre semi-automatic handgun and 17 mature cannabis plants were found when police raided six hinterland homes.

More than one kilogram of dried cannabis was located alongside the one to two-metre high plants at one of the homes.

Thirteen seedlings were found.

A 42-year-old man will appear in Noosa Magistrates Court next month on charges of production, supply and possession of dangerous drugs.

He was also charged with possession of utensils and other items.

The Sunshine Coast Tactical Crime Squad conducted the raids with the assistance of the dog squad and Pomona police.

Acting officer in charge Wade Lee said the gun and a small amount of ecstacy and LSD were seized from a second home.

A 27-year-old resident was charged with two counts of possession of dangerous drugs and possession of utensils.

Senior Sergeant Lee said inquiries were being made about possible bikie links at the home.

“Both arrests were the result of the continued co-operation of the public and good police intelligence,” he said.
