JULY 10 LOCAL 6 REPORT
July 4th 2010. Kate Sessions Park in San Diego , our normal meeting place was unavailable because it is a prime area for watching fireworks on the 4th of July, and gets packed early in the day. We cancelled the local 6 meeting because there was plenty of other activities to take part in. Many of our members showed up at the San Diego Annual Helmet-Law Protest Ride. We weren’t necessarily protesting helmets, just the fact that we are forced to wear them. The Riders were reminded that every day could be a helmet protest day……Just don’t put it on ! The Protest Ride was followed by good eats at San Diego Harley, and some good speakers…Our long-time friend Congressman “Bullet Bob” Filner was there….Just goes to show you that if you support a politician with time and help during their early years, they will be with you for years and years when you need them. In the afternoon Sweetwater Harley had a poker run that ended back at the Sweetwater Dealership for a party on the patio on the roof for fireworks viewing… “Kaboom” ! Our next meeting will be on the first Sunday of each month, at Kate Sessions Park in Pacific Beach in San Diego , at Noon. C’mon Down ! Would you like to spend a little time speaking to teenagers in a Drivers Ed class in your own area ?
