The lighter side of motorcycling.... Old Spice

OFF THE WIRE
The Old Spice Guy and a motorcycle in new commercial

It’s not unusual to switch on the television and find advertisers using motorcycles to add mystique or an edge to their product or brand.
Using the passion and rebellious nature associated with motorcycles advertisers have used motorcycles to sell a variety of non-riding products, including men’s diapers in 2008 when 'Serenity Male Guard' showed older riders enjoying the freedom the product promised.
But a commercial that is becoming a legend in its own right is turning to two-wheels with the character known as the ‘Old Spice Guy’ ending up on a small motorcycle at the end of the latest ad for the men’s aftershave.
Played by Ex-football player Isaiah Mustafa, the first commercial became famous for its quick and humorous scene changes, all telling the ladies watching why the spokesperson was better than the man sitting next to them on the couch.
The original commercial ended with the line, “Yes ladies, I’m on a horse.”
As with history the horse has given way to motorcycle even in the world of advertising. The ‘Old Spice Guy’ makes his scene changing way through log-rolling, circular-sawing, cliff-diving, into a Jacuzzi and surprise, in the saddle of a motorcycle.
"I think we were actually going for a more outdoorsy feel," Mustafa tells the Los Angeles Times in a recent interview.
Watch the commercial and leave a comment on what motorcycle you think ‘Old Spice Guy’ ends up on.
