(NECN: Kenneth Craig) - State Police aren't taking any chances when it comes to road safety on Memorial Day, especially after a deadly weekend on the road. On Sunday, a female passenger was killed after the motorcycle she was on crashed into a car on Milford Street in Upton, Massachusetts.
And this Memorial Day weekend... Troopers will out in full force.
It's a holiday synonymous with backyard BBQs, travel and traffic ... And because of this... Unfortunately it if often also means some serious accidents.
Sunday, two major accidents both involving motorcycles.. Both central Massachusetts residents.
In Upton, a Worcester woman was killed after the motorcycle she was riding crashed into another car.
In west Bridgewater.... A 43-year-old Shrewsbury man was seriously hurt after he crashed his motorcycle while travelling on route 24 - according to State Police.
No word if alcohol was a factor in either accident... Authorities are still trying to figure out what happened.
State Police say all of this is reason for concern.... And as area residents wrap up the weekend and head home... Their urging them to keep their eyes on the road.
And most importantly - as always they say alcohol should never be part of the mix.
