ELECTION ALERT: California Coast from LA to SF

URGENT: To All California Motorcyclists

(please forward this message to everyone you know between LA and SF)

Campaign volunteers are urgently needed for a top-priority State Senate race. Help us win -- this weekend only -- because the special election takes place next Tuesday. After that, it's "game over."

If you live and ride anywhere between Los Angeles and San Francisco, here's your chance to earn a motorcycle-friendly ally in the State Senate. I kid you NOT -- the alternative is somebody who'll make us ride bikes that run on soybean oil.

PLEASE give an hour this weekend to make some phone calls, and the biker-friendly candidate will win. When you volunteer, they'll give you a list of phone numbers, and a short paragraph to read. Pretty easy task. The alternative is trying to lobby "Senator Soybean" after he's burrowed into Sacramento. Guess how he'd vote on SB435 (the "stock exhaust" bill)?

Tuesday's voter turnout will be at an all-time low, so both sides desperately need volunteers to help "get out the vote." Who ever makes the most phone calls will win ... and probably by only a couple of hundred votes.

I've been to these "phone banks" before, and all I usually see are little old ladies and college kids. Let's change that view.

Can you imagine how much impact a room full of bikers would have? Not only by getting out the vote, but also by making an indelible impression on the candidate & his campaign staff. They'll certainly remember us when they become the senator & his legislative aids.

All the contact info is provided in the below email from the campaign office.

PS: If you can only "phone bank" from home, please contact Tyler at 610-730-7395 and ask how.

Douglas,

Thank you again for supporting Sam's campaign.

The main campaign office is located near the Cal Poly campus on Foothill Blvd. We are located in a shopping center in the same building as the kick boxing gym. The address is:

SAN LUIS OBISPO
956 East Foothill Blvd
San Luis Obispo, CA 93405
(Contact Debbie Arnold 805-471-1994)

We also have campaign offices located at the following locations:

SANTA MARIA
Santa Maria Way Ste.105
Santa Maria, CA 2646
(contact Jeff Snider 209-642-0133)

SAN JOSE
522 North Monroe St.
San Jose, CA 95128
(contact Curtis Grima 916-532-7772)

MARINA
Monterey Pennisula Engineering Building
192 Healy Ave.
Marina, CA 93933
(Contact Damon Conklin 916-290-3400)

We certainly appreciate your help. Sam's opponent is John Laird, an environmental activist from Santa Cruz. He is well funded by the Democratic party. This is a target seat for the Democrats, as the state senate is only two seats away from the Democrats having the super majority. That would allow them to pass taxes and regulation without any Republican input. This is an important seat statewide.

Because it is a special election, it is expected to have a low voter turn out, and the get out the vote calls as a reminder are soooooo important. Thank you for anything you can do to help us.

I just spoke to the campaign manager, Tyler Ayers regarding phone calls from home. We welcome the support, but wonder if you have a system in place to deal with getting the phone call sheets to people. We could email sheets to people and have them mail them back. Just let us know.

Precinct walkers are also needed. Thanks again.
