SANTA CLARITA — A big law enforcement turnout is expected today at the funeral of a 27-year-old sheriff's deputy who was killed in a motorcycle accident in Valencia. Cameron Glover, who was assigned to the sheriff's Santa Clarita Valley Station, was off-duty and riding north on McBean Parkway near Granary Square about 6:25 p.m. Wednesday when he collided with a vehicle heading the same direction, then crashed into the median, according to sheriff's deputies.
His funeral is set for 2 p.m. at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at the College of the Canyons.
Glover graduated from the Sheriff's Training Academy and Regional Services Center in 2007. He was with the department nearly four years and began working at the Santa Clarita Valley station in May 2008.
Glover is survived by his parents, a wife and a brother, a Los Angeles firefighter.
A memorial fund has been set up to assist Glover's family and his wife, who is pregnant with their first child. Donations can be dropped off at the Santa Clarita Valley sheriff's station or mailed to the Bank of Santa Clarita main office, 27441 Tourney Road, Suite 100.
