CALIFORNIA - Senate Candidate Todd Zink needs our help.

Senate Candidate Todd Zink needs our help.
Todd Zink has the experience to lead, both as a Lt. Colonel in the United States Marine Corps that has served in Iraq and Afghanistan, and as a Deputy District Attorney. Zink knows the importance of leadership and how acting inconsistently is damaging to the morale of those you lead.

Senator Fran Pavley is up for re-election in November against Todd Zink and we can’t let her win.

...
She is responsible for this:
SB. 435 would make it illegal for motorcycles built after Jan. 1, 2013 to use exhaust systems that meet federal sound emission standards.
If approved, riders found using an exhaust without an EPA label certifying sound emission compliance would be issued “fix-it” tickets by law enforcement officers.

With the outcome being:
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger Signs SB 435 Into Law Thu Sep 30, 2010 11:47 pm
The California State Government has passed SB 435 that aims to increase enforcement of current anti-tampering and noise-level statutes for motorcycles.
The ear-splitting roar of illegally modified motorcycles will be quieted despite opposition from motorcycle rights groups that have lobbied to weaken the legislation. The bill was sponsored by Senator Fran Pavley (D-Santa Monica) and signed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, who rides motorcycles.
SB 435 would require that motorcycles maintain their federally required emissions equipment (on both original, and aftermarket exhaust systems), including a readily visible EPA stamp certifying compliance. These regulations have been on the books since 1983. This gives law enforcement the ability to cite violations under the CA Vehicle Code, using a readily visible and unalterable stamp, already required by Federal regulation. A violation will be cited as a secondary infraction, meaning the rider would have to be pulled over for some other reason initially. A first offense will be punishable by a fine of up to $100 but that can be dismissed upon proof of correction. Any subsequent offense(s) will be punishable by a fine of up to $250. This bill will apply to motorcycles and aftermarket parts going forward from 2013.

Please lets get the word out to her district:
Senator Fran Pavley represents the 23rd Senate District, which includes the cities of Agoura Hills, Beverly Hills, Calabasas, Hidden Hills, Malibu, Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Santa Monica, West Hollywood and Westlake Village, as well as several communities in the City of Los Angeles, including Bel Air, Beverly-Fairfax, Beverly Glen Canyon, Brentwood, Canoga Park, Century City, Chatsworth, Encino, Hollywood, Mt. Olympus, Northridge, Pacific Palisades, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Tarzana, Topanga, West Los Angeles, West Hills, Westwood and Woodland Hills.

If she did this to motorcycles who says cars are not next.
