Obama: Law officers carry 'burdens so the rest of us don’t have to'

President Obama honored fallen law enforcement officers Tuesday morning in front of the Capitol, thanking them and their families for their service and sacrifice.

"We remember the quiet courage of the men and women we have lost," Obama said, paying his respects to three officers who were killed in the line of duty. "This willingness to risk everything for a complete stranger is extraordinary, and yet among our nation's law enforcement officers, it is also commonplace."

Obama spoke to a large crowd of uniformed officers, family members and the public during the annual National Peace Officers Memorial Service. Since 2011, 213 local, state and federal law enforcement officers have died in the line of duty, according to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund.
"Even in the face of tragedy, I know that so many of you will return home and continue to do what you have always done," Obama said. "Every American who wears the badge knows the burdens that come with it ... you carry these burdens so the rest of us don't have to. And this shared sense of purpose brings you together."
Flanking Obama on stage among law enforcement officers was House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.

Let's see, he sues AZ and Alabama police to make sure they are not enforcing immigration laws against people sneaking across the border, Laws that Congress legislated and had a President sign into law already, but also says law officers carry the burden so the rest of us don't have to?
You have to understand that police officers are a voting block.  On his way to the next campaign stop he has to put in a few speeches or photo ops, and has to somewhat justify his use of the oval office.  Its to bad he doesn't believe a word he said.  Thank God my family wasn't being honored up there so I would have to listen to the hack.  How cruel to subject the loved ones of the dead to this empty suit.  Our uniforms of this great nation deserve better.

Dam, Obama keep fooling me with who he will kiss up to next to gain votes. He has not missed many chances. Let see what's next, dog catchers, trash haulers,cab drivers, realtors, attorneys, city workers, retailers, financial instutions, oops he already got them in his camp, there areother and I'm sure he will go after them for votes, he is hurting real bad in the polls since he has no succesful records to run on. It's his fault he should of been doing his job rather then vacation, traveling and golfing.

You know something else struck me, "You carry a burden so  the rest of us don't have to."  Is that the way you think of law enforcement?  Another bunch of goofballs that you can pawn off your responsibilities too?  Many of them do their job (Arizona) because you won't you lazy poor excuse for an American President.  CNN your not much better, the only reason I saw this article is because its up on Drudge.  When will you go Bankrupt!
