- Paul KuhnGreat conversation going there! I wish more people would start asking questions.. but that is how and why these governments are doing what they are doing. APATHY. They know they will "get away" with it. Old laws that exist are still in forc...e if they are not superceded. This was part of the Australia Act 1901(2?) passed by the British Parliament to allow Australia self-rule. "The colonies shall have the right to make laws, but where no such law exists then English law shall apply." (Or words to that effect - this is off the top of my head).
It DOES mean that such English Acts of Parliament apply with the full-force of the law. Such things as the WitchCraft Act 1638 (date not sure. but about then.) still apply ans as used in SA recently to charge some vandals in the West Tce cemetery vandalism spree.
But one little beauty is that the English Bill of Rights 1648 ALSO applies. Unfortunately it is pretty useless as it is all about trade and money. Very little in that which is of use.
Anyway.. all good stuff.. keep asking questions, tell your friends and family, read, research, read some more. The politicians of today are corrupt, certainly ethically and morally if not legally!See More45 minutes ago · ·
