AUSTRALIA - Comanchero outlaw bikies set to head for Melbourne

LINES of Comanchero outlaw bikies will roar into Victoria for their national run today. The club, involved in two of Australia's worst bikie brawls, is expected to meet in Albury before riding to its South Melbourne clubhouse in Thistlethwaite St.
If members from across the country ride into Melbourne it will be the first time the gxxg has chosen Melbourne as its end point to a national run.
More than 100 members are expected to take part in the "run".
The plan to descend on Melbourne in "colours" could be interpreted as a show of strength in a city where rival clubs have had a stronghold.
In the past three years the Comancheros have established two chapters in Victoria, but have not been involved in any major incidents.
The club has, however, come under pressure from the Hells Angels in recent months, who ran through strip club Spearmint Rhino in King St in December - a known haunt of Comancheros.
Sources say strippers have been hired to perform at the South Melbourne clubhouse, which boasts a snake pit and chandelier.
Victoria Police will monitor the run but did not divulge whether a police contingent would greet the bikies at the Victorian border.
A police spokesman said several gxxgs were planning national runs this month.
"Victoria Police is aware of several proposed national runs by Outlaw Motorcycle Gxxg clubs, with several planned in March,"a spokesman said.
"Police have met with senior club representatives to discuss the events and emphasise what is expected of participants.
"Police and Taskforce Echo members will monitor the rides and will take swift action to detect and disrupt any OMCG members who commit crimes or public order offences."
The Rebels were warned late last year any anti-social behaviour would not be tolerated during a national run to Mildura.
