He's the top outlaw biker in town, but he sometimes doesn't get paid real well, and his personal life sometimes betrays the reputation that comes with being nicknamed after a monster.
One year after Ottawa Hells Angels president Paul 'Sasquatch' Porter led a mass defection to give the crime corporation its first Ontario franchises in the gang's 60-year history, his reported income in court files show he was living below the poverty line, earning $14,000 in 2002.
By 2005, his reported income, according to his divorce papers, showed he was making more than $50,000 a year. But he needed more, and petitioned the court for an order to get child-support and part of his ex-wife's pension.
In statements filed in Ottawa court, Porter claimed that his ex-wife had told him she was quitting her job, leaving town and never working again.
His daughter had decided to live with him and attend a high school down the road from his modest suburban home.
Nicknamed for his size and girth, Porter stands a lumbering six feet tall and once weighed more than 400 pounds, the average size of a female grizzly bear.
