MICHIGAN - Iron Coffin homicide hearing delayed....

OFF THE WIRE
A Battle Creek man charged with a New Year's Day homicide will remain in jail after a court hearing Friday was adjourned.
Matthew Starkweather, 32, is charged with the beating death of Lee Taylor, 45, found dead about 5:56 a.m. Jan. 1 inside the Iron Coffin Motorcycle Club at 15 Gilbert St.
Battle Creek police said Starkweather told them he was stabbed in the neck during an altercation and officers found Taylor suffered trauma to his head. Police have alleged the two men had a dispute, perhaps over money.
During a brief hearing before Calhoun County District Court Judge Frank Line, Assistant Calhoun County Prosecutor Jeff Kabot and Defense Attorney J. Thomas Schaeffer said new police reports were provided to the defense on Friday and both sides are still awaiting a final autopsy report.
Line granted a request to adjourn the hearing and it was reset for Feb. 8.
Starkweather is being held in the county jail without bond.
