LAS VEGAS - Ex-DA Roger hit with ethics complaint.......

LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL
Former District Attorney David Roger faces an ethics complaint stemming from his new job as a police union lawyer.
Steve Sanson, president of Veterans in Politics, filed the complaint with the Nevada Commission on Ethics on Monday, the same day the Las Vegas Police Protective Association hired Roger as its new general counsel.
Roger, 50, retired Jan. 3 after 25 years as a Clark County prosecutor, including the past nine years as district attorney.
Sanson said Roger had a conflict of interest in serving as the county's top prosecutor while negotiating to join the state's largest police union, which represents about 2,800 rank-and-file Las Vegas officers.
Roger's office presented evidence at coroner's inquests, which examine any fatal police shootings or in-custody deaths.
"We're just appalled that his office investigates police shootings, and then he's making deals to be the PPA's general counsel at the same time," Sanson said.
Roger said he could not comment on the ethics complaint because he had not received a copy, but he said he did nothing wrong and wouldn't have handled the situation any differently.
