AUSTRALIA - Charged Comancheros bikie wins bail, with provisos

OFF THE WIRE
COMANCHEROS member Michael Syfris has been granted bail after several months in custody over the Melbourne Cup Day brawl at the Highway Hotel.Syfris, 46, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court yesterday, where Magistrate Peter Snopek agreed to release the bikie club member on bail on condition he not communicate with his co-accused.
The exception is Comancheros boss Vince Focarelli, for whom Syfris manages the Ink Central tattoo parlour in Hindley St.
He is one of six facing charges over the alleged brawl at the Highway Hotel on November 1 last year. Syfris was arrested outside the Adelaide Magistrates Court late last year and has remained in custody since.
He was on bail on other charges.
But he had previously been refused bail on the affray charge. He had been seeking to be released to live at the Hindley St tattoo parlour, owned by Focarelli.
Yesterday, Mr Snopek said bail for a different address was not opposed - with strict conditions.
Syfris has an 8pm curfew, must report to police three times a week and must not contact his co-accused, except Focarelli for work purposes.
He must also not contact any of the staff or security contractors of the Highway Hotel.
All the accused are contesting the charges and the matter will go to trial in March.
