MEARNS Community Council chairman David Nelson reported that there was a “huge police presence” in Luthermuir during a Saints and Sinners Motorcycle Club rally held in the village earlier this month.

The club have come to Luthermuir for a rally for a number of years and they have always been trouble free.
Mr Nelson, who represents Luthermuir on the council said however that on this occasion a “gang from Glasgow had turned up looking to cause trouble.”
“The police got warning of this and turned out in strength and there was no major incident. The local publican closed his pub in case there were problems.”
Mr Nelson suggested that the Luthermuir Hall and Park Committee will have to look at the running of the event if they are considering allowing the rally back next year.
