POLICE are closely monitoring a convoy of Rebels motorcycle gang members travelling through South Australia.
Crime Gangs Task Force are managing the convoy as they head across the state on their to their annual national run, scheduled to start in Mildura on Friday.
It is believed several hundred members will be attending.
One member of the convoy has been reported for speed dangerous while riding his bike approximately 10km west of Kimba in the state's mid-west.
Police will allege the 50-year-old Rebels member, from Western Australia, was detected travelling at 191km/h in a 110km/h zone.
The rider immediately lost his licence for six months and had his Harley Davidson impounded for 28 days.
Crime Gangs Task Force Detective Inspector Steve Taylor said the convoy would be closely watched.
"This is a typical example of why SAPOL directs resources into managing large numbers of outlaw bikies on our roads," he said.
"Unless we convoy manage and control them they have a complete and utter disregard for the law and other road users."
Police said they have a number of contingencies in place in the event that some of the Rebels head to Adelaide following the national run.
