Ohio - Canton man arrested in double-shooting

OFF THE WIRE
CANTON — A parolee was arrested Friday on a violation when Pennsylvania police obtained a warrant for his arrest in a felonious assault case involving a double shooting of two motorcycle club members.

Anthony S. Burt, 39, of 1458 Housel Ave. SE, was arrested at 9:10 a.m. Friday at the Ohio Adult Parole Authority office, 110 Central Plaza S, on a parole violation after Erie, Pa. police announced they planned to extradite him, Stark County Jail records said.

The jail records said he was on parole while he was outside of Ohio.

Burt has been on parole since his 2007 release from the Trumbull Correctional Institution. The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction website at http://www.drc.ohio.gov/ said he had been in prison since 2003 on charges felony drug possession, kidnapping, two counts of felonious assault and three counts of aggravated robbery.

An article Friday in the Erie Times-News at http://www.goerie.com/ identified Burt as one of four members of an Ohio motorcycle club who went to Erie in a sport utility vehicle a week ago, searched for members of the local bike club there called Five of a Kind and shot the first two members they saw. The shooting victims were expected to survive, the article quoted police.

Two Akron men who were reportedly with Burt were arrested and a Michigan man also believed to have been with them remained at large, the article said.
