The Motorcycle Riders Association says it fears the shooting of a boy at Semaphore on Friday night in a bikie-related incident could trigger more violence.
The 11-year-old son of a former Finks Motorcycle Gang member was shot twice in the leg after several men forced their way into his home at Semaphore in Adelaide's north-west.The boy was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A spokesman for the Motorcycle Riders Association, who does not want to be identified, says bikie violence is escalating in Adelaide.
"It's very unfortunate that sort of people who are innocent, especially an 11-year-old kid, are actually drawn into this warfare that's going on. That's really sad, and how gutless, how pathetic," he said.
"A very nasty scenario is now about to happen if they're going to involve members of the families."
In August, the South Australian Government announced plans for revamped laws to crackdown on criminal motorcycle gangs after the High Court deemed earlier legislation to be unconstitutional.
The changes include boosting protection for witnesses.
Shadow Attorney-General Stephen Wade says the Opposition will support the move, but wants it fast-tracked.
"The Government needs to put the legislation into the Parliament, so the Parliament can do its job and get on with the job of giving the police the laws and the tools they need," he said.
But the Government denies it has been slow to introduce the legislation.
It says it needs time to get the legislation right and intends to introduce the bill to Parliament by early next year.

He has not been charged but will not be allowed to return to the hospital for 24 hours.
