SAN FRANCISCO - Outlaws Motorcycle Club members throw alleged Hells Angels prospect out of bar

OFF THE WIRE
Members of a rival biker gang dragged a man accused of being a Hells Angels prospect out of an Outer Mission bar and brutally beat him Tuesday night, police said.
The 31-year-old man suffered a cracked molar and hip contusion and was robbed of cash and his cellphone in the attack outside The Connection, a neighborhood dive at 5740 Mission St., San Francisco police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.
The victim told police the assailants’ leather jackets indicated they were members of the Outlaws Motorcycle Club, the Hells Angels’ major rivals, police said.
The victim told police he is not a gang member and was attacked without provocation.
“Normall y bikers are friendly people,” he told police.
The accused prospect was bar-hopping and ended up at The Connection around 10 p.m.
After ordering a drink, five bikers walked up to him and, without saying a word, dragged him from the bar from the back of his collar. They beat him on the street, with one biker reaching into his pockets while another kicked him on the ground, Esparza said.
One of the suspects then said “they don’t want any Hells Angels prospects in their bar,” Esparza said.
After the beating, the victim fled on foot. He went to Kaiser Hospital in South San Francisco. His injuries were not life threatening, police said.
By the time police arrived at the scene, the bar was closed and the bikers were gone, Esparza said.
Mike Abdu, the employee of a liquor store across the street from The Connection, said the owners of the bar are very nice people but their clientele are known to be bruisers. There are about three beatings a month stemming from the bar, Abdu said.
“Every weekend something happens,” he said, adding that a friend of his who went in the bar once to give it a try ended up beaten and hospitalized.
Biker gang violence is not unusual in The City. Three months ago, members of the Hells Angels biker gang were suspected in the brutal beating of a man after a Lauryn Hill concert at the Warfield Theatre.
In that case, one of the biker brutes asked the 35-year-old victim if he was a member of the Mongols, another rival gang, police said.
