Pulaski County Shooting Tied to Motorcycle Gang Fight

(Laquey, MO) -- A very public fight among apparent members of motorcycle gangs ends with at least one person shot and wounded, Pulaski County Sheriff J.B. King said Sunday.
King says 9-1-1 calls started to light up at the county's dispatch center about 8:15 Saturday night, by people reporting the fight in the median of I-44 at the Highway 7 overpass. King says witnesses first thought it was a traffic accident because several of the bikers were on the ground, fighting. Traffic came to a stop on I-44 as drivers watched the melee. Shots were reportedly fired, King said. At least one person was shot, but refused medical treatment.
By the time deputies got to the scene, the fight was over and the motorcyclists were gone, headed east on I-44. When law officers stopped many of the bikers, they all claimed not to know anything about the shooting. Police in Lebanon also stopped another group of motorcyclists, and a second shooting victim showed up at the hospital in Lebanon.
King says the investigation into the fight and shootings is continuing. He says the bikers stopped by deputies in Pulaski County are members of nationally-known motorcycle gangs, although he did not name those gangs.
