OREGON - Gang warning follows brawl

OFF THE WIRE
PORTLAND — Portland bar owners and other merchants are being asked to ban customers wearing gang colors after a brawl involving two dozen motorcycle gang members in the Maine city.
Officials say two men were arrested and two were treated for injuries at local hospitals after the Saturday fight between members of three rival motorcycle gangs.
Police wouldn’t say which gangs were involved.
The Portland Press Herald says here is no reason to expect a return of gang violence that erupted during an Old Port turf battle between motorcycle gangs eight years ago.
Janis Beitzer of the Portland Downtown District merchants association says the fighting, especially during tourist season, is bad for business.
