North Carolina - Nash County Fire Fighters Battle Motorcycle Club Fire

United States (North Carolina) - Shortly after 10:30 p.m. on August 7, 2011 Nash County NC firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire on Highway 48. Fire Departments from Salem, Battleboro and Whitakers responded. The first in fire fighters found an heavily involved 1000 square foot building. The building belonged to the Ghost Riders Motorcycle Club. It took fire fighters a little over one hour to bring the blaze under control. At the height of the fire a live power line fell onto the ground hampering fire fighters until the power company arrived to shut down the power. The rear of the building was completely destroyed and the front section was heavily damaged. Fire fighters remained on the scene till the a.m. hours putting out hot spots and assisting the Nash County Fire Marshal's office who are investigating the cause of the fire. No one was in the building at the time of the fire and there were no reported injuries to fire fighters.
