AN alleged drug baron was arrested at gunpoint as police took down a narcotics syndicate on Sydney's northern beaches linked to bikie gangs.

Dozens of officers and police dogs raided the two-storey home in Beacon Hill on Tuesday afternoon after a six-month investigation into the supply of methylamphetamine, commonly known as ice, and other drugs.

Three men, aged 32, 28 and 45, were arrested at the property, the exact location of which was not revealed by police for operational reasons.

The 45-year-old man, alleged to be the syndicate's principal, was arrested at gunpoint as he tried to enter the house.

During a search of the property, police allegedly found 81 grams of ice and a large amount of cash.

A 42-year-old woman was arrested at a second raid at a unit in Beacon Hill.

All were charged with drug possession and supply offences.

he men were due to appear in Hornsby Local Court today, while the woman remained under police guard at a hospital after complaining of stomach pains.

It is alleged the four were part of a drug distribution network that had links to bikie gangs.

"The officers' determined work over six months has led to the dismantling of what we allege to be a significant drug network on the northern beaches," Detective Inspector Gemma Phillips said.

"I am very proud of the effort the team has put in and I hope this sends a strong message to anyone attempting to ply drugs within the Manly Local Area Command."
