MARTINSBURG - Police say a member of a motorcycle gang may be to blame for an assault early Sunday morning at a Martinsburg bar that resulted in one person being flown to a Virginia hospital with head injuries.
According to a press release issued by the Martinsburg Police Department, officers responded at 2:29 a.m. to the Dirty Dawg Saloon, located at 1019 S. Queen St., for a request to assist medics.
"Upon arriving at the scene, it was determined that a patron of the bar had been punched in the back of the head by a possible member of the Avenger Motorcycle Club," the press release written by Sgt. Scott Funkhouser said.
The victim suffered undisclosed injuries to his head and was transported to City Hospital before being flown to INOVA Fairfax Hospital in Virginia.
