Motorcyclist found dead on roadway in Escondido

A 25-year-old motorcyclist was found dead on the side of the road Saturday morning in Escondido, police said. The man appeared to have run off the road the night before while traveling west on Felicita Road near Montview Drive.
His body was found at about 6:41 a.m. The rider, whose identity was not released by police, was an Escondido resident.
It is not known if alcohol or drugs were involved in the accident. The motorcyclist appeared to be the only one involved, Escondido police said.
