NRS 484B.570 Administrative roadblock: Establishment; minimum requirements. 1. The police officers in this State may establish, in their respective jurisdictions, administrative roadblocks upon the highways of this State for any lawful purpose other than identifying the occupants of a vehicle or because of the existence of an emergency. What will the officer ask for at this checkpoint? ID. So who is breaking the law now. Someone needs to bring a measuring wheel and make sure the warning signs are .25 miles from the checkpoint, it is in the statute as well. also they need to provide a turnout point for those people who do not consent. Thats right, these checkpoints are consensual. Atty's know this, and many DUI's sadly get dropped because of this, But they do not print that in the paper. In vegas I pull up to the checkpoint, tell them "I do not consent" wait a few secs, and they tell me to go.
