RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - The federal racketeering trial of the national president of the Outlaws motorcycle gang and four others is winding down in Richmond.
A U.S. District Court jury heard the final witnesses Tuesday morning and will begin deliberations after closing arguments by the attorneys.
Prosecutors say Jack Rosga of Milwaukee leads a motorcycle gang responsible for a series of violent crimes, mostly aimed at gaining an advantage over the rival Hells Angels. Defense attorneys say the confrontations and assaults were isolated incidents, not part of a criminal enterprise.
Rosga is being retried after his first trial last month ended in a hung jury. His co-defendants are being tried for the first time.
