United Kingdom, Hell's Angel admits being paid to courier amphetamine..

A Hell’s Angel biker caught delivering £117,000 of drugs on his Harley-Davidson has been jailed for 18 months.

Police on a routine patrol found 11 kilogrammes of amphetamine in his panniers when they stopped Stuart Brabiner in Burley-in-Wharfedale.

Brabiner, 57, a member of Leeds chapter of the Blue Angels, had agreed to courier the drugs for money, Bradford Crown Court heard.

The judge, Recorder Sandra Keen, told him: “It is a great shame that a man highly regarded by so many people got involved in this.”

Brabiner, of Manse Road, Burley-in-Wharfedale, pleaded guilty before magistrates in Bingley to possessing amphetamine with intent to supply.

His case was sent to Bradford Crown Court for sentence.

Yesterday, prosecutor Abigail Langford told the court that police stopped Brabiner on April 17.

Asked to show officers what was in a pannier, he replied: “I’d rather not, it’s full of speed.”

Police seized 12 bags of amphetamine and £300 from Brabiner’s wallet.

Miss Langford said he told arresting officers he was being paid £1,000 to carry the drugs.

Brabiner’s barrister, Jonathan Devlin, said his client, a construction engineer, had been made redundant.

He acted as a courier for money on one occasion as a favour to a man who helped him sell motorcycle parts.

Brabiner was a hard-working family man whose wife was in poor health.

“He allowed himself, against his better judgement, to get involved and bitterly regrets it,” Mr Devlin said.

Recorder Keen told Brabiner that his previous good character probably made him an attractive choice to courier the drugs because he was less likely to attract suspicion. She gave Brabiner maximum credit for his guilty plea.
