Campaign launched for motorcycle safety in Potters Bar and Hertsmere

A CAMPAIGN warning motorcyclists in Potters Bar of the danger of riding irresponsibly has been launched by Hertsmere Community Safety Partnership.
Operation CARM – Campaign Against Rogue Motorcycles – is an annual event organised to tackle noise and anti-social behaviour.
Council officers, Hertsmere Mayor Linda Silver, and PCSO Karen Marchant have joined forces to raise awareness.
Paul Sawyer, assistant chief environmental health officer, said: "CARM is a joint operation which we run at different times and locations throughout the year.
“We work alongside the police to use information and intelligence gathered from various sources to target our patrols to hotspot areas across Hertsmere.
"With Christmas coming up it is important to remind anyone even considering buying a motorbike, scooter, mini-moto or go-ped that driving it in an anti-social manner and causing a danger to other people is against the law.
"Anyone caught driving one of these bikes in an irresponsible way will be given a notice that states if they are found again with the bike in the next year - their bike will be taken away."
