Marines/Corpsmen and friends

OFF THE WIRE
Sgt Ayube Services
Marines/Corpsmen and friends,

Talked with Commandant this morning about the services. Looks like it is going to be difficult at best to get groups in together for the wake so his direction is that the wake on Friday (3-7p.m.) will be an individual event. I’m planning on being there around 5 p.m. if anyone wants to join me. There will also be a van leaving the VFW in Peabody at 5:30 pm so if you’d rather leave your car over there feel free to meet there. Not sure what time it is planning on coming back.

Uniform for the wake will be long sleeved white shirt with MCL patches and sunbursts, black tie, black trousers, red MCL cover, red MCL windbreaker, white gloves.

The Funeral Mass is at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. For those of you attending the Mass, I’d like to meet in the street right out in front of the church about 10:30 a.m. That will give us enough time to form up all the veterans groups and color guards that might be there before the hearse arrives and pay appropriate honors.

As they bring the casket back to the hearse, I’d like to be back out in the street to again pay honors. The hearse will then depart for the cemetery along a route picked out by the family arriving for a 1230 burial. I’d like to be at the cemetery again to provide honors for the burial.

Uniform for the Funeral Mass will be long sleeved white shirt with MCL patches and sunbursts, black tie, dress-blue trousers, red MCL cover, red MCL windbreaker, white gloves.
It’s supposed to be cold so please dress accordingly. Uniformity is always second to your health and welfare.
