Canada - Ticketed bikers raising a racket....

OFF THE WIRE,
AND ONCE AGAIN LET`S ISSUE TICKETS, AND LET SOMEONE ELSE FIGURE IT OUT!!!!!!
City prosecutors are preparing for a fight as nearly half of the 115 tickets handed out this summer to owners of noisy motorcycles are set to be challenged in court.
The bylaw came into effect on July 1, 2010, allowing police to issue $250 fines to riders whose motorcycles are deemed 'too loud.'
City police spent nearly $20,000 on sound monitoring equipment to help enforce the bylaw. So far the only ticket to be challenged in court was dismissed as there were doubts about the accuracy of the sound monitor.
City prosecutors are confident those doubts can be removed in future cases, but critics of the bylaw continue to say they're being discriminated against.
City council has considered expanding the bylaw to cover other vehicles as well, but councillors want to wait until police report back on the effectiveness of the current bylaw.
