Arizona - Santa Claus comes in many various forms....

OFF THE WIRE
Dan Dandis - Special to The Independent
Santa Claus comes in many shapes and forms, and even his helpers can look a little strange.
For those children whose parents are not privileged to have a job or the income to provide a Christmas present for their little ones, Santa had some help this year, in the form of a motorcycle organization.
The Huns of the Southwest Motorcycle Club was Santa’s helper this year with distributing over $200,000 worth of toys to children throughout Arizona. The toys were donated to The Huns MC by La Maestra Community Health Center, which is based in San Diego, California, and were given out by the Mountain Motorcycle Association of Arizona at the Lakeside Fire Department to most of the Fire Departments in the White Mountains to benefit as many communities as possible.
The Huns MC also distributed toys to a number of motorcycle clubs throughout Arizona including the communities of Globe, Mammoth, Sierra Vista, Tucson, Springerville, Heber-Overgaard, Eagar, Saint Johns and even to Alamogordo, New Mexico, and the Papago, Apache and Navajo Reservations.
La Maestra Community Health Center provides access to quality, low cost health care services for low income and uninsured persons, and are interested in the health and welfare of all peoples, no matter where they live.
The partnership of La Maestra and The Huns of the Southwest Motorcycle Club is unique in many ways. It is a mix of an organization dedicated to help those in need, and to a group of motorcyclist who care deeply about their cities and towns and are trying to give a different image of bikers to their communities. They too, have families and children.
Those communities who will benefit from this generous organization will surely appreciate and welcome them back next year.
