Australia, Bandidos’ bikie arrested, charged with firearms offences – Willmot

Police have arrested and charged an alleged member of the Bandidos outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) with firearms offences after a stand-off at a western Sydney home.

Officers from Mt Druitt Local Area Command responded to a domestic incident at a residence in Mercator Crescent, Willmot, about 5.20pm yesterday (Tuesday 23 November).

Upon arrival, they allegedly observed a man sitting in a purple Toyota Corolla under a carport pointing a firearm at them.

Police immediately established a perimeter and specialist resources, including negotiators and officers from the Tactical Operations Unit, were brought in.

The 31-year-old man surrendered to police without incident a short time later.

A search of the Toyota Corolla allegedly uncovered a silver-coloured pistol and ammunition.

The man, believed to be a member of the Bandidos OMCG, was taken to Mt Druitt Police Station for questioning before being charged with breach apprehended violence order, possess loaded firearm to endager life, use weapon to avoid detention, assault police, possess a prohibited pistol, possess unregistered prohibited pistol and possess ammunition.

He’s been refused bail to appear in Mt Druitt Local Court today.

A 24-year-old woman and her two-year-old child, who were at home at the time of the incident, were unharmed.
