Judge sets next court dates for Apfel and Flores

OFF THE WIRE
Yavapai County Superior Court Judge Cele Hancock set pre-trial conferences for Brian Apfel, 38, of Las Vegas, and Jess Ramirez Flores, 61, of Glendale, for Monday Nov. 1 and 9 a.m. in Division 6 in connection with the shooting between the Vagos and Hells Angels motorcycle gangs in an unincorporated area northwest of Chino Valley last month.

Flores, who is represented by defense attorney David Shapiro, faces charges of discharging a firearm, possession of narcotic drugs and possession of dangerous drugs.

Shapiro said Flores and his wife would be traveling for a surgery and asked that Flores' conditions of release be amended. Deputy County Attorney Keith Evans said he had no objection.

Apfel, represented by defense attorney Craig Williams, faces charges of discharging a firearm at a residential structure.
