Firefighters are launching an effort to raise money for four firemen severely injured Aug. 13 when the wall of a burning building collapsed on them.

FIRE, or Firefighters Injured Relief Effort, will host a fund-raiser 7 p.m. to midnight Oct. 15 at the Roostertail, 100 Marquette Drive in Detroit. Tickets are $50 each, and will include hors d’oeuvres and live entertainment. FIRE is an offshoot of the Axemen Professional Fire Fighters Motorcycle Club, a nonprofit group of professional firefighter bikers.

Proceeds from the event will provide money and other resources for firefighters Gerald Rutkowski, Brendan Milewski, Eric Jurmo and Brian Baulch, all recovering from devastating injuries from the fire on Jefferson on the city’s east side that was later ruled an arson.

Tickets are available at the Engine House bar and grill, 309 Cass in Mt. Clemens; Shawn Patrick’s Pub, 29047 Utica in Roseville and 55161 Shelby Road in Shelby Township; Big Al’s Firehouse, 49035 Schoenherr in Shelby Township; and Casey’s Pub, 1830 Michigan in Detroit.
