Trial set for suspect in Biketoberfest slaying

Off the Wire
DAYTONA BEACH --A Tennessee woman accused of participating in a 2007 beating that left a Biketoberfest visitor dead will go to trial today.
Juanita Liebman, 40, is the last of three people accused of beating James Earl Mason to stand trial.

A silver ring, Harley-Davidson chain wallet and money were all taken from Mason after he was beaten with fists, feet and a bottle on Oct. 22, 2007, in the room he shared with his mother at the Daytona Shore Inn.

Mason, 36, was beaten into a coma and left on the floor. He died five days later.
Liebman's boyfriend, Jason Bowman, 33, was convicted at trial of first-degree murder in 2008 and sentenced to life without parole.
Bowman's younger brother, William McMinn, 24, has pleaded no contest to second-degree murder and awaits sentencing, prosecutors said.
Liebman's trial has been delayed because of her extradition from Virginia, where she was arrested two months after Mason died.
The trial is expected to wrap up by the end of the week. If convicted, Liebman faces up to life in prison.
