CA red light camera tickets can always be challenged
My savvy readers are familiar with some of the scandals surrounding red light camera tickets. Desperate local governments see this "Dukes of Hazzard" money-grabbing device as a cost effective way to confiscate more revenue to cover the unfunded public employee pensions and health care (remember -- bottom line, that's what just about ALL fee and tax increases are for today).
What I've learned is that, with a lawyer versed in this issue, or with proper preparation, there are MANY ways to get an automated red light "ticket" (which may not even be a ticket) dismissed. The odds are actually in your favor. Indeed, some attorneys specializing in this area can all but guarantee dismissal.
I can't personally vouch for the red light camera expose' website below. It's geared specifically for CA cameras, but I suspect it has wider validity in most respects.
Doubtless the red light ticket cognoscenti would find aspects of this website advice to be open to challenge. But the site gives you a good idea of the avenues open for seeking dismissal of such tickets.
Should you deprive government of your money if it is not legally owed? For me, the answer is yes!
It's "yes" not only for the obvious reason that I want to keep what I've earned so I can spend it on something I actually want. It's "yes" also because the less money the governments take it, the sooner they will commence the fiscal reforms that must be put in place. With our opposition to government collecting more loot, we simply are providing the fiscal restraint that will guide our reluctant politicos to the righteous path.
