Hells Angels plan party Saturday at tavern in Hastings

The Hells Angels, the largest and most notorious motorcycle club in the world, is planning a party today in Oswego County.
The club’s Central Cities Chapter will hold its “St. Valentine’s Day Massacre Feast” from 1 to 5 p.m. at Jake’s Grub and Grog on East River Road, Hastings, restaurant owner Jake Burgett confirmed.
State police and Oswego County sheriff’s deputies are aware of the party, Sheriff Reuel Todd said. “We don’t anticipate any problems,” Todd said. “What you’re dealing with is a reputation.”
Burgett doesn’t anticipate problems, either. “They approached us,” Burgett said. “They’re regular people.”
Hells Angels are throwing the party because they have formed a new chapter in Central New York, Burgett said. He said there aren’t many members of the motorcycle club locally. “There’s probably going to be more civilians than (club members)” at the party, Burgett said.
While Todd said he’s heard that a new chapter is being formed here, he’s not heard any details. State police and deputies will have a presence in the area, Todd said. “We will be monitoring,” Todd said.
